Scarce Molded Stoneware Presentation Pitcher, Embossed "S. W. PHILLIPS," probably American Pottery Company, Jersey City, NJ, circa 1840-1850, ovoid pitcher with upswept spout and ornamental handle, featuring a relief button or stylized flower blossom pattern throughout. Albany-slip-glazed exterior and cream-glazed interior. Midsection with applied lettering for the pitcher's owner, S.W. Phillips, in white clay. Loss to "I" and half of "H" in "PHILLIPS." Staining to interior. H 10".
