Two Stoneware Jars with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to the Thompson Pottery, Morgantown, WV, circa 1870, both of cylindrical form, a two-gallon jar with brushed looping vine and stripe motifs, paired with a four-gallon jar with brushed looping vine, freehand stripes, and a freehand "4" flanked by leaves. Four-gallon jar with chips to one handle, a small chip to opposite handle, an in-the-firing contact mark to reverse, and surface wear. Two-gallon jar with wear to surface and rim and a few in-the-firing contact marks, including two small pieces of adhered clay near base and a small base chip. H (of taller) 14 3/4".
