One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "CORTLAND," Madison Woodruff, possibly with Romanzo Smith, Cortland, NY origin, circa 1867-1869, wide-bodied, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and flared rim, decorated with a brushed and slip-trailed design of a two tulips and three spotted leaves emanating from a stem. Cobalt highlight to maker's mark. Very nice condition with small chips to inner rim for lid. H 8 7/8".
