Fine Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "W.H. FARRAR & CO. / GEDDES.N.Y.," circa 1860, cylindrical jug with tapered spout, decorated with a brushed and slip-trailed design of a a flowering plant bearing fan-shaped and tulip blossoms, emanating from a scalloped, dash-decorated ground. Slip-trailed "2" to shoulder. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. A 1/8" hole in side of jug. A minor in-the-firing ping to reverse. Some staining to surface. H 14 1/2".
