Scarce Eight-Stripe Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jar, Western PA origin, circa 1875, tapering jar with tooling to shoulder and midsection and semi-rounded "wax sealer" rim, brush-decorated from top-to-bottom with eight alternating straight and wavy stripes. One base chip. Tiny nicks and wear to inner wax sealer rim. Some light staining and minor surface wear. H 9 3/4".
