Rare One-Gallon Vertical-Handled Stoneware Jar Two-Color Slip Decoration, Manhattan, NY origin, circa 1770, ovoid jar with footed base, tooled shoulder, and two applied open handles at the shoulder, decorated with a cobalt band around the shoulder and iron highlights to the handle terminals. Excellent, essentially as-made condition (rare for pieces from this period) with some in-the-firing surface crazing, not visible on interior, and small star-shaped group of lines to shoulder on opposite side. H 10".
