Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "J. &. E. NORTON / BENNINGTON VT," circa 1855, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, flattened rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed floral design bearing abstract circular blossoms. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Excellent condition with some water glass staining. H 11 1/2".
