Exceptional Copper-Glazed Redware Jar, Stamped "J.L. Blaney / Cookstown, PA," Fayette County, PA origin, circa 1825-1854, cylindrical jar with tooled accents, tapered shoulder, and semi-rounded rim, the surface covered in a mottled lead-and-copper glaze over a reddish ground. Impressed with very rare J.L. Blaney maker's mark on underside. The only Blaney jar glazed in this manner that we have seen. Base chips. A few rim chips. Glazed surface survives in excellent condition. H 8 3/8".
