Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, Northeastern U.S. origin, third quarter 19th century, a three-gallon ovoid jar with elaborate slip-trailed foliate decoration, stamped "J. & E. NORTON / BENNINGTON, VT," circa 1855, paired with a five-gallon crock with slip-trailed floral spray, stamped "OTTMAN BRO'S. / & CO. / FORT EDWARD, N.Y.," circa 1880. Norton jar with a 1 3/4" hole in underside, a minor rim chip, and some minor wear to right of decoration. Other jar with a 1 1/8" base chip on reverse, a chip to interior of rim, and a minor nick to interior of rim. H (of taller) 12 3/4".
