Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jar with Stenciled Floral Decoration, Western PA origin, circa 1875, tapered jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded "wax sealer" rim, decorated with a detailed stenciled design of a flowering plant stencil, two freehand stripes at the shoulder, and a freehand stripe at the base. Several rim chips. A few minor nicks to wax sealer rim. Nicks to shoulder molding. H 8 1/4".
