Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jar, Western PA origin, circa 1875, tapered jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded "wax sealer" rim, decorated with a diagonally-stenciled scrolled design between freehand stripes. A hairline across underside, continuing 1" up base. A minor, pre-firing chip to inner wax sealer rim, which is covered in Albany slip glaze. H 7 7/8".
