Two-Gallon Iron-Decorated Stoneware Jug with Impressed Hearts Motif, Stamped "CHARLESTOWN," attributed to Frederick Carpenter, Charlestown, MA, circa 1812-1827, ovoid jug with heavily-tooled spout, featuring two impressed hearts below the maker's mark. Surface decorated with dipped iron-oxide decoration to the upper and lower body. Typical in-the-firing flaws to surface. A faint 3 1/2" vertical line and 2" vertical line near base, possibly in the firing. H 15".
