One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "J. & E. NORTON / BENNINGTON, VT," circa 1855, semi-ovoid jug with semi-rounded spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a bird perched on a stylized branch. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. A large base chip. Some bubbling to cobalt. H 10 1/2".
