Fine Four-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Pheasant-on-Stump Decoration, Stamped "SATTERLEE & MORY / FORT EDWARD, N.Y.," circa 1865, cylindrical jug with squared spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a pheasant with turned head, perched on a stump flanked by shrubs. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Desirable decoration and size featuring good color and exemplary condition. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with some minor staining to base area. H 17 1/2".
