Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Leaf Decoration, Stamped "HARRINGTON & BURGER / ROCHESTER," NY State origin, circa 1852-1854, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, flared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with two heavily slip-trailed leaves flanking a leaf inscribed "2." Looping trails to the left and right. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. A 1 1/8" chip to one handle. Two chips to interior of rim, measuring 5/8" and 3/8". Glaze wear to inner rim for lid. A spot of old paint to left side, unrelated to any restoration. H 11 1/4".
