Rare Diminutive Redware Jar, Inscribed "Green," Stamped "JOHN BELL," Waynesboro, PA, circa 1840-1880, ovoid jar with tooled rim and lead-and-manganese-glazed interior, the underside lightly incised "Green" in script, possibly referring to the jar's maker or the fact that the jar was "green" ware (in other words, not yet fired). Exceptional size. A 5/8" chip to bottom edge of rim. H 2 7/8" ; Diam. 3 3/4".
