Glazed Redware Cake Crock with Profuse Manganese Decoration, American, possibly Southern or Mid-Atlantic origin, mid 19th century, with concave walls, footed base, and unusual pierced handles, the exterior, interior, and underside decorated with heavy slashes of manganese under a clear lead glaze. Rim chips, including a shallow 1 1/4" chip on interior of rim. Minor surface wear. H 3 3/4" ; Diam. 7 1/2".
