Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "H. WESTON / ELLENVILLE N Y," circa 1860, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a flower with spiraling blossom accented with spots. Slip-trailed "4" above. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. A 1 1/2" hairline from rim on reverse. A small chip to interior of rim and top of rim. An in-the-firing surface chip near base on reverse. H 11 3/8".
