Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird Decoration, attributed to West Troy Pottery, West Troy, NY, circa 1875, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested, ring-necked bird perched on a stylized branch. Cobalt highlight to capacity mark. Rim chips, including colored rim chips on interior of rim. A small chip to one handle. Opposite handle with a small chip, a 1 1/2" flake, and a short surface line. Some light staining to exterior and water glass staining to interior. H 11 3/4".
