Three-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug with Pittsburgh, PA Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1875, cylindrical jug with tooled spout, featuring the stenciled advertising "GEo. W. McCLUID / FAMILY / GROCERIES / 346 / LIBERTY ST." Unusual stenciled vine motif to shoulder. Base with stenciled "3" flanked by flourishes, underscored by a wide freehand stripe. Minor wear to spout. A small area of crazing to shoulder on reverse. Staining to surface. A 4" hairline to underside. H 15 3/4".
