Scarce One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Stenciled Cobalt Eagle Motif, Stenciled "A.P. Donaghho, / Fredericktown, / Pa.," circa 1870, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, decorated with a stenciled design of a spread-winged Federal eagle above the stenciled signature, "A.P. Donaghho. / Fredericktown, / Pa.," a rarer mark used before the establishment of Donaghho's long-standing Parkersburg, WV pottery. Wear and shallow chips to interior of rim. Otherwise excellent condition. H 9 7/8".
