Fine Redware Bowl with Two-Color Slip Wing Decoration, Pennsylvania origin, 19th century, with rounded sides, footed base, and tooled rim, the interior decorated in manganese and cream-colored slip with four wing designs culminating in scrolled ends. Two slip-trailed manganese lines to rim. Underside incised "6". Highly unusual decoration. Glaze loss to interior base. Minor wear and a few knife marks to interior wall of bowl. Rim chips. Minor wear and a small chip to interior edge of rim. Two base chips. A thin, glazed sliver of clay adhered to exterior. Diam. 9 1/4" ; H 3 1/4".
