One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1830, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, squared rim, and arched tab handles, decorated on the front and reverse with a leafy stem bearing unusual daisy-shaped blossoms composed of spots. Swag decoration to rim on front and reverse. Cobalt highlights to tops of handles and terminals. Excellent condition with a few typical, small in-the-firing flaws to surface, some minor water glass staining to exterior, and water glass staining to interior. H 10 1/2".
