Rare One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Slip-Trailed Cobalt Vine Decoration, Stamped "T.H. WILLSON & CO / HARRISBURG.PA,," circa 1852-1855, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, artistically-decorated with a symmetrical slip-trailed vine motif. Prized early-period Harrisburg maker, scarce slip-trailed treatment, and excellent color. Very nice condition with a 1 1/4" rim chip on side of rim, minor staining, and a very minor in-the-making base chip. H 10 1/4".
