Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to George and/or Albert Black, Somerfield or Confluence, PA, circa 1865-1875, semi-ovoid jar extruded lug handles, tooling to body and shoulder, and semi-rounded rim, the front and reverse brush-decorated with a sweeping floral motif applied over slip-coated clay. Very nice condition. Some shallow in-the-firing rim chips. A 3 3/4" surface line descending from shoulder. A 1 3/8" chipped section to base. H 13 1/4".
