Two-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "E & L P NORTON / BENNINGTON VT," circa 1870, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed floral spray accented with dots and curled trails. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. A tight 5 1/2" Y-shaped hairline and faint 6" vertical hairline descending from shoulder on reverse. A faint 3" surface line below one handle. A tiny in-the-firing iron ping at base. H 8 7/8".
