Glazed Redware Ale Mug, Stamped "JOHN BELL/ WAYNESBORO'," PA origin, circa 1850-1880, ovoid form with footed base, cylindrical collar, and spurred handle, the surface decorated with sponged manganese and covered in a clear lead glaze. Impressed with John Bell maker's mark at shoulder. A restored top-to-bottom crack from rim. Two areas of restoration to foot, extending a short distance onto underside. A small restored rim chip. A small unrestored chip to interior of rim. H 7 3/4".
