Fine Molded Redware Coffeepot, Philadelphia, PA origin, probably Thomas Haig, circa 1815-1830, high-styled form with gadrooned body, spurred handle, and original domed lid, the surface covered in a dark-brown lead and manganese glaze. Provenance: Estate of Susan H. Myers, author of Handcraft to Industry and former Smithsonian Curator of Ceramics and Glass. Reglued finial on lid. Loss to end of spout. Chip to shoulder and chip to base. Minor chip to spur on handle. H (including lid) 10".
