Rare Stoneware Canning Jar with Stenciled and Freehand Cobalt Decoration, Western PA origin, circa 1875, tapered jar with tooled shoulder and slightly-flared "wax sealer" rim, decorated with two radiating foliate motifs between freehand cobalt stripes. Heavy chipping to interior of rim. A few small chips to exterior of rim and minor flake to top edge of rim. Two minuscule nicks to inner wax sealer rim. H 8 1/2".
