Four-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "FORT EDWARD POTTERY CO.," George Saterlee, Fort Edward, NY, circa 1859, cylindrical jug with tapered spout, decorated with a large slip-trailed floral spray featuring two central blossoms and graduated, radiating trails. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Two glazed-over horizontal lines at base. Crazing throughout handle, including a horizontal surface line to underside of handle, continuing partway onto top surface. Lesser crazing to spout and shoulder area. A faint Y-shaped line to underside. Two in-the-firing contact marks to right side of jug. H 18".
