Six-Quart Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "NEW YORK / STONEWARE CO. / FORT EDWARD, N.Y.," circa 1875, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder and flared rim, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a bird perched on a leaf. Cobalt highlight to capacity mark. Provenance: Property deaccessioned by the Miller House Museum, Hagerstown, MD. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with a small drip of white paint to right side of jar. H 10 1/4".
