Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jars, PA origin, 19th century, a six-gallon ovoid jar with elaborate freehand vining and stripes, stamped "R.W. RUSSELL / BEAVER PA," mid 19th century; paired with a four-gallon ovoid jar with large flowering plant motif, stamped "SIPE & SONS / WILLIAMSPORT. PA," late 19th century. Russell jar with significant exfoliation to side/reverse, base chips, and water glass staining. Sipe jar with a 1 3/4" rim chip, two smaller rim chips, a 7 1/2" crack from rim on front (including a small surface chip and small in-the-firing ping), a 1 1/2" hairline from rim, and a chip to one handle. H (of Russell jar) 17 3/4".
