Two Two-Gallon Stoneware Jars with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG. PA," circa 1865, both of cylindrical form with slightly-flared rims, one with horizontal tulip motif, the other with vertical tulip-and-bud motif. Shorter jar with several chips to rim and inner rim for lid, as well as two tiny flakes to reverse, an in-the-firing base chip, and minor fry to cobalt. Taller jar with chips and wear to inner rim for lid, two large rim chips, and light water glass staining to surface. H (of shorter) 11 1/4".
