Fine Half-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1845, ovoid pitcher with footed base and tooled collar, decorated around the midsection with a boldly-brushed, wavy stem bearing swags and fan-shaped flowers. Swag decoration to sides and collar and flanking the spout. Brushed cobalt stripe to rim. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Desirable size with exceptional color. A restored crack extending across under and up side of pitcher to midsection of collar. A restored 3 7/8" section to the pitcher's foot, involving the same area that the crack extends through. A smoothed-over, in-the-making dent to foot, which is glazed over. A minuscule nick to interior of spout. H 8 3/4".
