One-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to the Remmey Pottery, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1865, ovoid pitcher with footed base and tooled collar, decorated on the front with a double stemmed tulip plant featuring Germanic-style blossoms. Foliate decoration to the collar. Cobalt highlights to the handle terminals. Some exfoliation to collar. Crazing to underside. A 3" crack to left of spout. A 1" hairline from rim on reverse. A 7/8" flake to interior of rim, where spout meets rim of pitcher. A minor in-the-firing chip to top of rim. Exfoliation to interior. Small flake and wear to exterior. A 3/4" surface chip to right side of pitcher's front. Wear to upper handle terminal. H 10 1/2".
