Five-Gallon Stoneware Churn with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "E & L P NORTON / BENNINGTON VT," circa 1870, semi-ovoid churn with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and tall collar with semi-squared rim, the front decorated with a large slip-trailed floral spray. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Excellent condition with shallow chips and nicks to inner rim for lid, a tiny nick to one handle, a minor chip to base of rim on reverse, and some light water glass staining. H 17 7/8".
