Scarce Two-Gallon Stoneware Water Cooler with Cobalt Clover Decoration, Impressed "A," Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1875, tapered form with squared rim, tooled shoulder, and circular bunghole, decorated with a double-stemmed clover plant emanating from the cobalt-highlighted bunghole. Reverse with additional clover motif. Rare impressed "A" mark on reverse, the meaning of which is currently unknown. Unusual size and form. A tight crack across underside. A Y-shaped crack to underside, part of which extends 4" up side of cooler. H 8 3/4".
