One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Impressed Decoration, Stamped "CORLEARS HOOK," Thomas Commeraw, Manhattan, NY, circa 1815, ovoid jug with footed base and heavily-tooled spout, decorated with an impressed drape-and-tassel motif resembling conjoined clamshells, brushed over haphazard cobalt highlights. Impressed with "CORLEARS HOOK" mark below. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Tight cracks to bottom half of jug, emanating from base. A 1 1/4" in-the-firing flake to top of spout. Base chips, the largest having occurred in the making. H 11 1/2".
