Half-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Incised Drape Decoration, attributed to Thomas Commeraw, Corlears Hook, Manhattan, NY, early 19th century, ovoid jar with footed base, tooled shoulder, and applied vertical handles, decorated on the front and reverse with an incised drape motif executed with a compass. Provenance: From a recently-surfaced collection. Thin, very tight cracks throughout. A base chip. An in-the-firing contact mark to one side. Minor, glazed-over chipping to rim. H 7 1/2".
