Two-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to the Remmey Pottery, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1865, ovoid pitcher with footed base and flared collar, decorated around the midsection with a stem bearing graduated leaves and three-petaled flowers. Swag decoration flanking the spout and foliate devices on each side of the collar. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. A faint Y-shaped line on underside, not visible on interior. Large restored sections to exterior surface of collar, including a large, unrestored flake revealing areas of restoration material around. Restoration to tip of spout. In-the-firing flaws to surface, including a glazed-over 7/8" ping to side of pitcher. H 13 1/2".
