Two Stoneware Mugs with Incised Horse Decoration, Westerwald, Germany origin, 19th century, both of cylindrical form with pewter lids and incised and cobalt-highlighted designs of rearing horses. One with incised letter, "H," below horse, inscribed "J. Sch." on top of lid. Thinner mug in excellent, essentially as-made condition with a tiny glazed-over ping to front. Larger mug with two base chips and a small in-the-firing iron ping to right of horse. H (of larger mug to top of finial) 9 3/4".
