Large-Sized Tanware Pitcher, Greensboro or New Geneva, PA origin, circa 1885, semi-ovoid pitcher with short, flaring collar, decorated in Albany slip with a sweeping fuchsia vine design. Freehand dash decoration to spout and collar. Freehand stripes to rim, base of collar, and base of pitcher. Elaborate dash decoration to handle and brushed highlights to handle terminals. Very nice condition with a minor rim chip on reverse, a few minor nicks to interior of rim, minor surface wear, and minor traces of bluish paint to surface. H 9 3/8".
