Rare Ochre-Decorated Stoneware Flowerpot, Dated 1868, Ft. Edward, NY origin, 1868, tapered pot with attached saucer, decorated three times in reddish-brown ochre slip with the date, "1868," within a wreath, interspersed with cross-shaped devices. Graduated dashed brushwork above. Top of rim decorated with oval designs in a "stick spatter" style treatment. Additional stripe decoration to saucer. Significant losses to saucer. Three cracks from rim, measuring 3 1/2", 3", and 1 1/2". H 7 1/2" ; Diam. (across top) 8 1/2".
