Half-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1870, ovoid pitcher with footed base and tooled rim, decorated with a horizontal vine bearing three clovers at the midsection and swags on the sides of the pitcher. Additional foliate brushworks to collar. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Very nice condition with a small chip to exterior of rim, a small ping where spout meets rim, and some crazing to handle, including a horizontal hairline to underside of handle, not visible on top surface. H 9".
