Quart-Sized Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Southeastern PA origin, circa 1860, ovoid pitcher with footed base and heavily-tooled collar, decorated around the body with a faintly-brushed swag and hanging flower design. Additional faint cobalt brushwork to collar and spout. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Staining to surface. A small salt drip to collar. A spout chip. Hairlines to underside with a few continuing a short distance up base. A 1 3/4" X-shaped hairline to collar on right side of pitcher's front. Crazing to interior, not visible on exterior. Provenance: From a recently-surfaced collection. H 7 1/4".
