Fine Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar with Philadelphia, PA Advertising, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1865, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and squared rim, decorated with the impressed and cobalt-highlighted advertising, "JOHN G. HOPKINS .&CO. / IMPORTERS & DEALERS IN / CHINA GLASS & QUEENS WARE / 612 MARKET ST / PHILADELPHIA. Brushed garland around advertising. Shoulder additionally decorated with two large floral motifs. Excellent condition with a 1 3/4" hairline from rim. H 13 1/4".
