Stoneware Butter Crock with Cobalt Tulip Decoration, attributed the Remmey Pottery, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1865, cylindrical form with heavily-tooled shoulder, squared rim, and ribbed lug handles, decorated on the front and reverse with two brushed horizontal tulip motifs. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals and a wavy line of cobalt below each handle. Three chips on interior of rim. Chip to one handle. H 5" ; Diam. 8 3/8".
