Very Rare Albany-Slip-Glazed Stoneware Figure of a Spaniel, Signed "A.J. Vermilyer / Harisburg(sic)," A.J. Vermilyer at the Cowden & Wilcox Pottery, Harrisburg, PA, circa 1870, molded figure of a seated spaniel with pierced nostrils, the surface covered in a metallic, chocolate-brown Albany slip glaze. Underside incised with the potter's signature, "A.J. Vermilyer / Harisburg(sic)." Excellent, essentially as-made condition with a small in-the-firing contact mark to tail. H 6 7/8".
