One-Gallon Boston Stoneware Advertising Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Ft. Edward, NY origin, circa 1875, cylindrical jug with tooled spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a bird perched on a stylized branch. Impressed above with the advertising, "A.B. WHEELER & CO., / 69 Broad Street, / BOSTON, MASS." A 3/8" chip to exterior of spout. A small chip to interior of spout. A shallow in-the-firing contact mark below the word, "BOSTON." Some light wear to decoration. A minor in-the-firing iron ping to lower handle terminal. H 11 1/4".
