Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Impressed Floral Decoration, attributed to Jonathan Fenton, Boston, MA, late 18th century, highly-ovoid jug with tooled spout and semi-rounded mouth, decorated with an impressed and cobalt-highlighted floral design. Provenance: From a recently-surfaced collection. Various firing flaws to surface, including a few surface chips. A shallow in-the-firing chip to top of spout. A horizontal hairline to handle. Fry to cobalt. Spout partially plugged. H 15".
